Publishes the articles you approve in Blogs for SEO as normal WordPress posts, with their SEO tags and structured data, and keeps them up to date.

== Description ==

[Blogs for SEO](https://blogsforseo.com) is a service that finds the questions your customers search for, researches each answer from current search results and the sources behind them, and drafts an article with those sources cited. You read each draft, edit it if you like, and publish it, or switch on autopilot to publish on a schedule.

This plugin is how those articles reach your WordPress site. It doesn't write anything itself.

What it does:

* Articles you publish in Blogs for SEO appear here as published posts within moments.
* Edits update the same post. If an article's address changes, WordPress redirects the old one.
* Articles you unpublish go back to drafts. Nothing is deleted.
* Title, address, excerpt, featured image, tags, author and category are filled in. The featured image is copied into your media library.
* The meta title and description work with Yoast SEO and Rank Math, or on their own.
* Each post gets structured data (article, FAQs and breadcrumbs) describing your site as the publisher.
* Your site serves `/llms.txt`, `/blog-sitemap.xml` and an IndexNow key file, and robots.txt lists the blog sitemap.
* Every hour it checks for anything it missed.

The plugin adds nothing to your site that links to or credits Blogs for SEO.

You need a Blogs for SEO account. The plugin is free; the service is paid after a free sample. See [pricing](https://blogsforseo.com/pricing).

== Installation ==

1. Install and activate the plugin. Nothing is sent anywhere yet.
2. Under Settings → Permalinks, choose "Post name" (or a custom structure ending in %postname%), so posts get the addresses search engines are told about.
3. Go to Settings → Blogs for SEO and paste the API key from the "Connect your website" page of your Blogs for SEO dashboard, then press Connect.
4. Choose the author and category for new posts. Your published articles are imported straight away.

Full guide: [Connect WordPress](https://blogsforseo.com/docs/connect/wordpress).

== External services ==

This plugin connects to the Blogs for SEO service, which you sign up for and connect yourself. Nothing is sent until you paste your API key and press Connect.

* **Connecting** (when you press Connect): your API key, your site's address for receiving updates (`/wp-json/blogsforseo/v1/events`) and your permalink pattern are sent to `https://blogsforseo.com/api/v1`. We answer with a signing secret and your IndexNow key, saved in your WordPress database.
* **Reading your articles** (on connect, when an article changes, every hour, and from Settings → Blogs for SEO): the plugin requests your published articles from `https://blogsforseo.com/api/v1` with your API key.
* **Receiving updates:** when you publish, update or unpublish an article, Blogs for SEO sends a signed, timestamped notice to your site's update address. The notice holds only the article's address and an event name; the plugin then reads the article itself.
* **Header images:** each article's header image is downloaded from `https://media.blogsforseo.com` into your media library.
* **llms.txt and the blog sitemap:** when someone (usually a search engine or AI assistant) opens `/llms.txt` or `/blog-sitemap.xml` on your site, the plugin fetches it from `https://blogsforseo.com/api/v1`, cached for up to five minutes. Nothing about the visitor is sent.
* **Disconnecting or deactivating:** the plugin tells `https://blogsforseo.com/api/v1` to stop sending updates.

No information about your visitors, your other content or your WordPress users is sent.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Do you need my WordPress password? =

No. The plugin reads your articles with your Blogs for SEO API key. Blogs for SEO never gets a WordPress login.

= Who writes the articles? =

Blogs for SEO drafts them from current search results and cites its sources; you review them before they're published, unless you switch on autopilot.

= What happens if I deactivate or delete the plugin? =

The connection is removed and new articles stop arriving. Posts already on your site stay.

= Does it work with my caching plugin? =

Yes. Posts change through WordPress itself, so caching plugins refresh them as they do for any post.
